How to stop US-based spammer?

by: admin Thursday, July 8th, 2010

I keep getting one particular annoying spam. I got it maybe over 300 times:
Become-a-Social-Worker-Earn-over-50k-a-year
Start-your-career-as-a-social-worker-today!
Become-a-social-worker-today! / earn-over-50k /yr
Visit-this link-learn more: http://eritutn.net/basw

Every time different domain, but they all are owned by one company, Wise Choice Media, in Colorado, and have the same person Kevin Kirkpatrick as a contact. I tried to contact him few times, but got no response.

What is the best way to get rid of this annoying recurring spam?
Can I report this guy somewhere?

Depending on your email provider, (i.e. Gmail) you can create a filter to automatically block or send these messages to the trash based on the sender’s email address — or in your case, if they’re using the exact same phrasing in each one, — keywords from the email. I.e. block "become a social worker"

Dont plaster your e mail all over the net. Use a secondary e mail account for internet purposes. Create a primary for close friends.

if this is a mail then you can click on the spam button in the mail and mark this mail as spam and it will automatically go to your trash…dont waste your time contacting the company guys.most of them use bulk email softwares and there is no way they are going to remove your address from that list…no worries

About the best bet is to forward them to spam@uce.gov . But don’t hold your breath on it stopping anytime soon.

If it’s costing you money, sue. Otherwise just get a good email program (with a Bayesian filter) and train it to dump all those emails.
