The "Search Redirect Virus" is an ever common infection that is extremely hard to remove. You cannot remove it with the programs you have listed, or any other traditional anti virus or anti malware. This is all due to how the virus manages to infect your system.

MalwareBytes and other similar software is designed to detect and remove any viruses that install malicious software or run a harmful process on your PC. The redirect virus does neither, as it manages to take advantage of a security loophole to infect a system file. This means it can still cause the system to act up, but simultaneously "hide" from your anti virus software.

The system file it infects is one used by search engines to produce redirect requests. These requests are perfectly normal for any search engine to make. Once this system file is infected, it can manipulate this to redirect you to advertisements and other irrelevant websites.

The best way to remove this virus would be to use a program called ComboFix. This has worked wonders for me multiple times before and I can thoroughly recommend it. You will need a tutorial with it, and one I always use is here:

Run a full scan using Spy-bot or similar program. but BEWARE--this is ONLY a temporary fix. this thing will come back to haunt you over and over again. if you are running IE, get rid of it since IE browser is weak and vulnerable to attacks like this. the solution: get Firefox and run add-ons NoScript, and Ghostery under tools option. you are the victim of click-jacking. empty your cache, clean your browser [also under tools], and BEWARE of sites like MySpace, where ghost jacking is incorporated in the ads. don't click anything. just hit escape, shut down your computer, then reboot, run a good program such as Spybot to remove bogus cookies, then GET RID OF IE and get Firefox. BTW: NEVER, EVER download so-called 'free' programs from untrusted sites. good luck. been there. done that.
References :
I think it's all about quality and not quantity, so it's better to submit your website to 10-20 article directories with high PR and traffic than to submit it to 1000 directories with no page rank and traffic
References :
http://www.readyourarticles.com

You can submit to multiple directories at the same time without being penalized by Google.

1). Most directories take a few days, to a few weeks, to sometimes a few months, to approve your submission, so they will NOT all show up at the same time.

2). As for your concern about this being seen as spam by the search engines... the article you read is pure hogwash! If this were true, you could submit your competitors' websites to hundreds, or thousands, of crap directories on the same day and get them banned in the search engines.

Do you know how many millions of website owners would do this to each other if what was said in the article you read was true? Do you know what a mess search engine rankings would be if anyone could do this to anybody's website?

Lesson: Don't believe everything you read in an article by an anonymous author with no credibility in the SEO field.

As for me, I do professional SEO for clients across the country everyday, so I know what works and what doesn't work.
References :
I can imagine search engines thinking about your link somewhere in a directory as link exchange and therefore not really increasing your rank when such a link is found, however, I don't see a reason why would they penalize you for having a link to your website somewhere.

Perhaps if the directory has a low PageRank, Google might store that information and lower your PageRank in time but I wouldn't really care too much about this.

One of the hard part of the off-site SEO is that you can't really control which pages link to you. So my advice would be to submit only to directories relevant to you (local directories or directories with PageRank of 3 and more - use this link to check: http://www.pageranktool.net)
References :
Hi,
Ok this might be a little ahead of its time but have you thought of Foursquare. You want to do social media and you want to promote your business..both of these can be achieved with Foursquare.

You can offer incentives to your customers through this. Foursquare looks like it could become massive and there is talk about them being bought out by the big guns... do a google search

Good Luck
References :
http://www.foursquaretips.net

You could go to word press and start your own site. It is no cost and high quality. However, you will need to advertise your new site.

A good local highly targeted place would be craigslist.com.

Good luck!
