Does more traffic to your site give you a better search engine ranking?

I just posted a question asking if my site could be viewed in other countries. One of the replies said I should not spam my site for traffic. Does this mean that search engines use the amount of people who go to your site to rank your page?

when i click links on search engines it brings me to spam websites?

Why is it when I search on google all the results I get are spam or ads?

I tried googling other things and if I use a different search engine it works okay. Its just odd and I miss my google =[
if u have McAfee its probably that things fault.me and someone else have this problem and we have McAfee

I have picked up search engine hijack virus, how can I get rid of it?

It redirects search engine results to spam sights, Have tried, Malware Bytes, Hitman 3.5. but no luck.
Anti-spywares can’t fix that. This is what you need:
